ADVANCED- YENGINEERING, February 14, STRUCTURAL DRAINAGE DRAFTING Mr. Tad Bjorlie TNT Home Improvement 1448 Antero Drive Loveland, Colorado 80538 RE: 2621 Saddle Creek Drive, Fort Collins, Colorado Advanced Engineering, LLC Project Number-1447-14-01A - Dear Mr. Bjorlie: We have visually observed portions of the above referenced residence on December 30, 2016. We observed the attachment of a new patio roof at the southeast corner of the home. At the house the patio rafters hang from a 2x 12 ledger attached with two LedgerLoks spaced at 16" on -center (to wall studs according to you). The beam at the west side of the patio roof did not appear to support any rafters and was attached to the house with a Simpson HUCQ412 hanger. The beam at the north side of the patio roof also did not appear to support any rafters, and is attached to the house with three LedgerLok screws. You stated that the hip roof beam was pocketed into the corner studs of the house and nailed in place. It is our opinion that the attachment of the patio roof to the house as described above is sufficient to support and resist the applicable loading and does not require any repairs. The conclusions presented in this letter are based solely on a visual review of portions of the described structure, and your directions. The engineer's opinions of the described portions of the home are based solely upon information obtained from readily visible elements (i.e., elements which do not require the removal of sheathing, cladding, or covering of any kind) unless specifical ly noted. Latent structural problems which could not be detected as a result of these limitations may exist. Our review was limited to the items described in this letter, and is not intended to cover other structural, mechanical, electrical, environmental, mold, site grading, or architectural features of the building. Our office has not performed any engineering analysis of the existing framing or foundation elements of the structure or the subsurface soil conditions, unless noted otherwise.
