The opening is 1'-6" x 1'-6" with the as -built location being off -center in the 5'-4" masonry pier of the western wall of the kitchen. Please see the attached photograph and the GSE report to Balance point dated July 3, 2017. An unknown existing condition was discovered during construction- the headedng of a floor joist above the new opening for a duct passing through the floor above. An additional as -built condition and deviation from the design plan was the installation of the specified L6x4x.31 lintel supporting the CMU block long leg vertical. The entire installation including the items identified above are structurally acceptable; it is my understanding the jambs of the new opening, the adjacent window, and the section of masonry above the new lintel are grouted.
