Soilogic, Inc (Soilogic) personnel have completed th ` p nhe ole oliservation you requested
for the referenced project The results of our observations are included with this report
On November 1, 2016, a Soilogic field engineer observed the foundation bearing materials
for footing foundations for the referenced residence We understand the residence will be
a one or two-story wood -frame structure constructed over a full basement At the time of
our field observation, the garage and basement areas had been excavated to approximate
foundation -bearing elevation
The exposed materials observed in the garage and basement areas consisted of apparently -
natural, dark brown sandy lean clay One (1) hand auger boring extended to a depth of
approximately 3'/z feet below basement foundation bearing elevation and revealed similar
materials extending to the depth explored Free water was encountered in the completed
hand auger boring at a depth of approximately 3'/z feet below basement foundation bearing 28F,1 s 17 1, 33PM
at the time of excavation Dynamic cone penetrometer tests indicated the dark brown lean
clay was medium stiff in terms of consistency These materials are consistent with those
encountered as part of our original subsurface exploration performed at this site and
outlined in a report dated September 29, 2014 and would be expected to exhibit no to low
swell potential at current density and moisture conditions

Based on results of the completed field testing and our site observations, it is our opinion
the medium stiff, natural, dark brown lean clay could be used for support of the residence
footing foundations at the design maximum net allowable soil bearing pressure of 1,500
psf As a precaution, these footings should be sized to maintain a minimum dead -load
pressure of 500 psf, or as high as practical on the foundation bearing soils

Mr Greeno
During the period of November 29, 2016, to December 2, 2016, Soilogic Inc (Soilogic)
provided observation services for the referenced project Our services were provided on a
part-time basis and mcluded, perimeter drain/damp proofing observations you requested for
the referenced project The results of our observations are included with this report
On November 29, 2016, Soilogic personnel observed the damp proofing for the referenced
project The damp -proofing observed consisted of a grey spray -on coating that appeared
to cover the exterior of all basement foundation walls At the time of our site observations,
the d pain proofing appeared to have been_mstalled in 'accordance with general_ly_ac ec p ed-}
C
construction practices
On December 2, 2016, Soilogic personnel observed the installed exterior dram system and
damp -proofing for the referenced residence prior to backfilling The perimeter dram
system observed consisted of 4-inch diameter perforated pipe bedded in gravel and placed
at approximate foundation bearing level around the exterior perimeter of the basement area
of the structure with an average depth of 7-14 inches above the pipe Plastic sheeting was
observed to be glued to the foundation wall extending below the perimeter drain trench and 28RUG 17 1:33PM
filter fabric was observed installed over the free draining gravel Jhe_pgiim. eter_dram,was
spot checked with a hand level and observed to be sloped to dram and positively connected
to the sump pit

The void form was also observed to be intact At the time of our site observations, the
perimeter dram system appeared to have been installed in substantial compliance with the
submitted perimeter drain detail
