Re: Remodel structural modifications
Dear Craig:
The purpose of this letter is to summarize the activities of KL&A, Inc. as the consulting structural
engineer on the remodel to the residence located at 916 Edwards Street in Fort Collins, CO.
KL&A performed calculations and prepared drawings for the modifications to the structure including
spread footing foundations and wood framing. A representative of KL&A performed periodic site
visits to observe the project under construction for general compliance with the structural contract
documents and responded to construction questions from the field. These observations were not
continuous or exhaustive, therefore all conditions may not have been observed. Specific structural
items that we observed included the wood framing.
Based on our observations and experience, to the best of our knowledge, the modifications to the
structure of the residence at 916 Edwards Street were constructed in general conformance with the
structural contract documents and are, in our opinion, substantially in conformance with the structural
provisions of the 2012 International Building Code and local code amendments by the city of Fort
Collins.
