RE: LETTER OF SUPPORT FOR WINGSHADOW, INC.
It is my honor to write this letter of support for Steve and Shirley Bolton, who
have been operating Wingshadow, Inc., for the past several years. It appears
certain that many troubled youths have been positively affected due to the
knowledge, experience, and caring involvement of these individuals through the
Wingshadow program.
With additional resources now available, Wingshadow, Inc., Frontier High School,
and volunteer and paid staff, will be even better able to assist these youth in
achieving an education and the social skills necessary to become productive adults
in our community. Positive futures free from abuse, neglect, poverty and violence
can now be an achievable goal for these young citizens.
it is without hesitation that, on behalf of Fort Collins Police Services, I offer
support of the. efforts of Steve and Shirley Bolton and Wingshadow, Inc.
Sincerely,
Fred W. Rainguet
Chief of Police

What is WINGSHADOW?
WINGSHADOW is a non-profit organization started
in January 1993 to serve endangered youth and
their families in Larimer County, Colorado.
"Endangered youth" is defined as youth who are in
danger of: being physically, sexually or emotionally
abused in their home environment; becoming
involved with law enforcement or the judicial system;
dropping out or being expelled from school; or
becoming involved with gangs.
Steve and Shirley Bolton, the founders of
WINGSHADOW, Inc., have spent over 20 years
working with young people in a variety of settings,
ranging from church youth groups to inner city
prostitutes to those convicted of crimes and
incarcerated. All of this experience, together with
education and professional training, has helped
prepare them to work knowledgeably and effectivly
with youths and their parents.

Dear Steve:
I would like to take a few minutes to extend our appreciation to you and to
your staff for the development and implementation of Fronrier High School.
As we have heard often in the past months, "It takes the whole community
to raise a child," and I think this truly represents your contribution to our
Fort Collins community and student population.
Although you are not a direct part of Poudre R-1, we are all working together
to help the children of our community by addressing their diverse needs. We
aze supportive of what Frontier is doing and we realize that your school is
making a positive difference and helping those children and their families
who may be in difficult, troubled.and unique situations.
Your major goal, "to provide educational opportunities for endangered youth
in a positive, supportive environment so that they can graduate from high
school and be ready to pursue higher educarion and prepare for productive
cazeers and lives" is truly commendable. Your efforts in connecring youth
and their families with positive role models and linking them with agencies
that can benefit them is just one of the many fine services that you provide
and is truly appreciated.
We are fortunate to have you in our community and we recog*iize the
significant contriburion you are making to our student population. If we can
be of help and assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are all
partners in doing what is best for our kids!
Best regards,

To Whom it may concern;
This letter is written as support for Steve and Shirley Bolton. I have known of their dream
for the past several years, that dream was to have a school where young people, in trouble
due to life's circumstances, would be able to seek shelter.
They now have Wingshadow, Inc. Frontier High School, which operates solely from local
private donations, no govemment funding, with volunteer and paid staff. They have and
will in the future provide alternatives which assist these youth in their education and life
skills to enhance the future.
It is for these reasons that the Larimer County Sheriff`s Office wholeheartedly supports
Steve and Shirley in their efforts for the youth of Larimer County.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Steve and Shirley Bolton have been helping troubled youth in
the Fort Collins, Loveland, and Larimer County communities, for the
past several years. They have a wealth of experience ' and
involvement in the lives of endangered kids, and have been quite
successful in turning many troubled lives around. Now, through
Wingshadow Inc. , and Frontier High School, they, with the help of
many volunteers and paid staff, have additional resources enabling
them to equip these kids with the education and social skills
necessary for becoming productive citizens with a future free from
abuse, neglect, poverty, and, in many cases, violence.
I wholeheartedly support their efforts and urge you to do the
same.
Sincerely,
-
