As requested, Earth Engineering Company, Inc. (EEC) personnel have completed an observation of the
foundation bearing materials for footing foundations for the referenced project. The results of those
observations are included with this report.
On April 23rd, 2015, EEC personnel observed foundation bearing materials for the foundation footings for
the referenced residence. We understand the residence will be a lightly loaded wood frame structure
constructed on a crawlspace. At the time of our field observations, the building area had been excavated
to approximate foundation -bearing elevation. The garage footing foundation bearing level was at a depth
of approximately 1 to 2 feet below original grade. The materials observed in the basement excavation
areas consisted of grey/brown to cemented sandstone bedrock.
The geotechnical exploration report for this residence dated December 30, 2014, recommended all
foundation footings extend through the sandy lean clay soils, and be constructed to bear directly on the
sandstone bedrock. Based on the results of the outlined field testing and observations, it is our opinion
the in -situ materials could be used for support of the footing foundations at the design maximum net
allowable total load soil bearing pressure of 2000 psf provided all foundation footing elements bear
directly on the sandstone bedrock.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding
this report, or if we can be of further service to you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Very truly yours,

Mr. Scott:
®®® ENGINEERING

Earth Engineering Company, Inc. (EEC) personnel have completed the construction observation
services you requested for the referenced project. Those services included an observation of the
foundation footing dimensions and reinforcing steel placed for the referenced address. The results of
the site observations completed by EEC personnel are included with this report.
On April 24, 2015, EEC personnel observed footing foundation widths and the reinforcing steel for the
foundation footings for the above referenced single-family residence. The continuous spread footings
were approximately 12 inches wide by 8 inches thick. The foundation pads were approximately 36
inches by 36 inches by 8 inches thick. Four #4 bars were placed horizontally each way in the basement
pads.
At the time of our observations, it appeared that the foundation footing dimensions and reinforcing
steel had been placed in general accordance with the construction plans prepared by Larsen Structural
Design (Project No. 1933.1), dated March 4, 2015.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions
regarding this report, or if we can be of further service to you in any way, please do not hesitate to

Mr. Scott:
In general accordance with the plans and specifications, LARSEN Structural Design personnel
performed structural observations at the above referenced address for concrete stem wall
reinforcing, including footing dowels.
Any deficiencies in the work were coordinated with the project subcontractor for remediation
while on site. The work performed appears to be in substantial compliance with the structural
drawings.

EEC Project No. 15-01-127
Mr. Scott:
As requested, Earth Engineering Company, Inc. (EEC) personnel have completed the construction
observation services you requested for the referenced project. Those services included observations of
the foundation drain placement and damp proofing at the referenced lots. The results of those
observations are included with this report.
On May 6, 2015, EEC personnel observed the foundation drain for the referenced project. The foundation
drains consisted of 4-inch perforated pipe bedded in gravel and was connected to a basement sump pit.
The gravel was covered with a filter fabric. The damp proofing consisted of a grey spray -on coating that
appeared to cover all exterior below grade living areas of the basement walls.
