HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017 W Plum St - Special Inspections/Engineering - 01/05/2015LARSEN 111 STRUCTURAL DESIGN January 5, 2015 Dave Lingle Aller Lingle Massey Architects 712 Whalers Way DESIGNING SMARTER STRUCTURES Project: Village On Plum Location: Fort Collins, CO Contractor: Palace Construction Building B, Suite 100 Fort Collins, CO 80525 RE: Village on Plum - 2017 Plum Street, Building 100 Larsen Structural Design Project No. 1861 Mr. Lingle: Our records indicate that during the course of structural modifications to the existing roof members and during the installation of the new roof trusses at 2017 Plum Street, Building 100, we visited the job site four (4) times. Particular items that were observed include the installation of new blocking and attachment of the existing roof joists to the existing top plate, attachment of the new double 2x6 plates around the extent of the building, installation and attachment of the new LVL headers where applicable, attachment of new roof trusses and clips where applicable. The following items were observed at the following dates and times: 12-15-14: 2:00 p.m. - Reviewed the structural connections of the existing 2x6 rafters to the existing 2x4 double top plates on the west side of the building. 12-16-14: 3:00 p.m. - Observed the structural connections of the existing 2x6 rafters to the existing 2x4 double top plates along the east side of the building. In addition, the screw attachment and installation of the new double 2x6 plates along the north, west and south ends of the building along with the north girder truss lines were inspected. 12-17-14: 1:00 p.m. - Inspected the screws fastening downthe new double 2x6 plates along the east side of the roof and at the southern girder line. 01-02-15: 11:00 a.m. - The installation of the clips attaching the new roof trusses to the new double top plate were inspected where applicable. In addition, installation of the Simpson LTP4 clips at 24" o.c. between the girder trusses to the double top plates was inspected. When identified the General Contractor has corrected deficiencies or omissions. Based only on our site inspections, the General Contractor has constructed the structural elements of the building in substantial accordance to the construction documents.
