P.E.#11585 Emergency escape and rescue window is reouired for every basement and sleeping room The opening must have a mi: .clear opening of 5.7 sq. ft., 24" min. height and 20' min. moth Sill ht. of 44" max, above floor. Escape window well shall have a horizontal min. opening of 9 sq. ft, 8 a min, projection and width of 36'. Well depths greater than 44" must be equipped with a Permanent ladder or stairs. ALL ELECTRICAL WORK SHALL BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE CURRENT N.E.C. SMOKE & CO ALARMS ARE REQUIRED PER CURRENT- IRC / IBC The above site was personally inspected on Aug. 20, 2014. The site indicates the existing windows that are to be removed and replaced with approved 4'x4' "egress windows" are located on the North side (3 each) of the house and 1 each on West (north) side. The sites are located in a concrete foundation with asbestos siding above. The house has an existing wood rim joist and sill plate and 2"x4" headers. There will be no disturbance to these and/or the siding. With the new window frames and existing headers, support of the siding should be adequate and is therefore approved for installation.
