Earth Engineering Company, Inc. (EEC) personnel have completed the construction
observation services you requested for the referenced project. Those services included an
observation of the foundation footing dimensions placed for the referenced address. The
results of the site observations completed by EEC personnel are included with this report.
On December 20, 2011, EEC personnel observed footing foundation widths for the
foundation footings for the above referenced single-family residence. The garage and
crawlspace footings were approximately 16 inches wide by 8 inches thick. The basement
footings were approximately 16, 28 and 30 inches wide by 8 inches thick at various
locations. The basement pads were approximately 20 inches by 20 inches by 10 inches
thick and 26 inches by 26 inches by 10 inches thick. Three #5 bars were in position to be
placed horizontally each way in the basement pads.
At the time of our observations, it appeared that the foundation footing dimensions had
been placed in general accordance with the construction plans prepared by Cobb
Associates (Job No. 111100400), dated July 22, 2011.

Earth Engineering Company, Inc. (EEC) personnel have completed the construction
observation services you requested for the referenced project. Those services included an
observation of foundation wall reinforcement steel for the referenced residence. The
results of the observations completed by EEC personnel are included with this report.
On December 27, 2011, EEC personnel observed the reinforcing steel for the foundation
walls for the referenced residence. The reinforcing steel observed at the garage and
crawlspace foundation walls consisted of two #4 bars placed horizontally at the top and
bottom of the walls. The reinforcing steel observed at the basement and porch foundation
walls consisted of two #4 bars placed horizontally at the top and bottom of the foundation
walls. One #4 bar was placed vertically and horizontally at approximately 16 inches on -
center throughout the length and height of the basement walls. Lap lengths observed were
checked and appeared to meet the minimum required lengths. The Uffer grounding rod
consisted of a single piece of #4 rebar which extended horizontally at the base of the wall
forms and then vertically for the full height of the forms and extended approximately 1
foot above the full height of the foundation wall at the southeast area of the basement.
At the time of our observations, it appeared that the wall reinforcing steel had been
placed in general accordance with the construction plans prepared by Cobb Associates
(Job No. 111100400) dated December 13, 2011.

As requested, Earth Engineering Company, Inc. (EEC) personnel have completed the
construction observation services you requested for the referenced project. Those services
included observations of the foundation drain placement and damp proofing at the referenced
address. The results of those observations are included with this report.
On December 30, 2011, EEC personnel observed the foundation drain for the referenced project.
The foundation drain consisted of 4-inch perforated pipe overlying a plastic liner and bedded in
gravel around the below grade exterior perimeter of the structure. The gravel was covered with
filter fabric. Various locations were spot checked and measured from the top of the footing to
determine slope and the drain appeared to slope toward the basement sump pit. The damp
proofing consisted of a grey spray -on coating that appeared to cover all exterior below grade
living areas of the basement walls.
