RE: Open -hole, Drilled pier, foundation wall reinforcement steel, and concrete encased
electrode (UFER) observations for the home at Lot 33, Mountaire Subdivision, Fort
Collins, Larimer County, CO.
Job # 13-4020
To Whom It May Concern:
We observed the open -hole excavation for the proposed home at the above -described site
on December 19, 2013. The soil that was found during the observation at a depth of
approximately 3 feet below the ground surface was verified to be the same soil type as
found in the original test holes at those depths.
We made an observation of the drilled piers for the above -described location on
December 19, 2013. The piers were plumb, properly cleaned and drilled to the design
depths as specified in the High Plains Engineering & Design foundation plan # 13-4020.
No water was encountered during the drilling. Casing was not required. We recommend
that the reinforcing bars and concrete be placed immediately after drilling.
The grade beam reinforcement appeared to be placed in general conformance to the
approved plans.
The Ufer ground was observed during the grade beam reinforcement. The concrete -
encased electrode was installed in general conformance to 1999 NEC, Article 250-50.
