RE: 1321/1323 Cherry Street, Fort Collins, Colorado
Larimer County Parcel #97101-09-937
Dear Ms. Stafford:
This is to follow-up on our recent conversations regarding the property noted above. On
November 28, 2011, the LCDHE received a copy of a report by Century Environmental
Hygiene LLC that detailed methamphetamine (meth)
test results of samples collected from the property. A number of the samples exceed
Colorado's methamphetamine standards. This letter serves as a notice that hazardous
substances, waste products and/or dangerous levels of methamphetamine residue may
still exist within the two residences.
Section 25-18.5-105 of the Colorado Revised Statutes (CRS), declares that meth
properties that have not met the requirements of this Regulation shall be deemed a
public health nuisance. Therefore the property located at 1321 & 1323 Cherry Street,
Fort Collins, Colorado has been deemed a public health nuisance and listed as a
dangerous building and will remain in such status until it has been properly cleaned and
sample testing can demonstrate the property is safe to occupy.
Be advised, Section 25-18.5-103 CRS requires the property owner to meet the cleanup
standards established by the State Board of Health. These standards are located in 6
CCR 1014-3, Regulations Pertaining to the Cleanup of Methamphetamine
Laboratories,. A preliminary assessment must be performed to provide a basis for
proper decontamination and samples taken after cleanup are complete
Please contact me at 970-498-6775 or at rgrossmann(d),larimer.org if you have any
questions regarding this matter.
