This observation was not in general conformance with the plans and required a second observation to confirm the three deficient items had been installed. This follow up observation was not requested and the wall was poured with out our authorization. The three deficient items were as follows: • Add two (2) #4' vertical bars at all doors and windows. • Horizontal bars are bundled at center of wall and should be separated per the detail. • No UFER installed. We reanalyzed the bundled bars and determined that they are adequate for the applied loading. You informed us that the vertical bars had been installed at the doors and windows prior to the pour. You also indicated that the UFER was installed prior to the pour. If these items were addressed as you indicated then the wall is adequate to support the applied loading. For reasons unknown, the perimeter drain/damp proofing observation was not requested. The drain and damp proofing were installed and back filled without our observation. You provided pictures showing the drain and damp proofing installed prior to backfill. From these pictures we can determine that the drain and damp proofing were installed but we can not verify that they were installed according to our recommendations. The city will need to determine if any further observation will be required to accept the installation. Thank you for selecting CTLITHOMPSON for your engineering needs.
