On April 27 2010 a representative of Northern Colorado Geotech performed an excavation
observation for a residence under construction at the above referenced site in the Maple Hill
Subdivision in Fort Collins Colorado
The soil exposed at the upper and lower footing levels consisted of native sandy lean clay These
materials are similar to those encountered by Northern Colorado Geotech during our subsurface
exploration at the site (Project No 003-10 dated February 25 2010) Based on our observations and
the recommendations of the geotechrncal engineering report it is our opinion that the proposed
residence may be supported by a spread footing foundation system The foundation should be
designed in accordance with the recommen a ions an specs ications provided in the geotechrncal
engineering report
Groundwater or bedrock was not encountered within two feet of the lower footing level However as
a precaution we recommend the installation of an exterior perimeter drain around the lower level of
the structure The dewatenng system should be constructed in accordance with recommendations of
the geotechrncal engineering report
