Mission: Declaration of Purpose: In a world where the rights of children are an issue, we. .
believe that every . child has a right to live and develop in a permanent nurturing
family. However, for many children in this world, this is not a reality. In many
third world nations,, for example, hundreds of children are left to the care .of
overcrowded and understaffed orphanages, where the daily needs of the child are:'
easily overlooked. Malnutrition, disease and death prey upon these innocent lives.
It is the purpose of Hand In Hand to provide the necessary medical, dental,
emotional and nutritional care for these needy and deserving children of the
world, .until such time that these children can be placed in permanent homes. In
addition to caring and planning for foreign. children, Hand In Hand recognizes
needs of children within the United States. It is therefore our desire also to
provide whatever services and programs we can, to facilitate children's needs
within our own community and to assist in locating permanent homes for waiting
U.S. children. Hand In Hand stands ready, with a capable and loving staff, to
assist in the placement of children from newborn to 16 years of age, regardless of
the child's heritage.

Mission: Kids at Heart is a program of Heart ofthe Rockies Christian Church (Disciples of
Christ) that supports and recruits foster, adoptive and respite families and their
children in Larimer County. We mobilize volunteers to provide direct support to
all foster and adoptive families who take these children into their homes and work
hard to provide the love, safety and stability these children need and deserve. We
also `plant seeds' of hope and understanding to inspire people to become foster,
adoptive or respite parents. We empower other faith and community groups to
take action in supporting these kids and families either through volunteering or
through initiating their own similar program.
Activities: Fundango is a respite program for all children of Foster and Adoptive parents in
Larimer County. We have screened and trained volunteers lead groups through
stations like crafts, snack, games; etc. While we are playing, parents have an
opportunity to take a break from parenting: Parents pick up their children after the
program refreshed and energized.

Mission: The mission .of Partners Mentoring Youth is to create and support one-to-one
mentoring relationships between positive adult role models and youth who are
facing challenges in their personal, social and/or academic lives.
We believe that through a combination of volunteering + generosity of spirit, a
mentor can give and gain life-long benefits from a mentoring relationship with a
local youth. The relationships (Partnerships) established through our youth
mentoring programs last a minimum of one year and require a 3-hour-per-week
commitment from both the Junior and Senior Partner. In that three. hours,
Partnerships commit to spend time doing whatever it is that benefits their specific
needs and interests. Partnerships thrive on sharing their already existing lives and
activities, while also enjoying new experiences together.
Activities: Once a youth is referred to the Partners Mentoring Youth program, they
participate in the. Nexus Program. The. Nexus Program provides fun and
educational activities for youth every month while they wait to. be matched with a
Senior Partner. The goal of the Nexus program is to keep the youth engaged and
plugged into the Partners program, so they benefit from the influence of role
models even while they wait to be matched.
