Observations and comments are as follows
1 The light gage steel framing for the cornice feature at the perimeter of the roof level is in progress The light gage
steel framing is near completion at the South Elevation between the South Entry and the southwest comer of the
building, and at the southern half of the West Elevation Refer to Addendum No 1 dated February 4 2010 regarding
framing requirements
2 The 3 5/8 depth steel studs that are being used have 1 1/4 width flanges instead of the specified 1 5/8 width
flanges and appear to be 20 gage Cemco Viper Studs We have reviewed the steel studs used and they are acceptable
structurally
3 The light gage steel framing has been installed somewhat differently than the Addendum No 1 drawings In
general the vertical stud was coped at the top and the vertical and horizontal studs have been connected with 4 to 5
# 10 Tek screws An angle will be required at the intersection of the vertical and horizontal studs to accommodate the
roof sheathing 6 on center screw attachment requirements Refer to the attached sketch regarding the facade framing
4 The comer framing is being installed somewhat differently than the Drawings and is acceptable
5 The top clip angle at the vertical stud appears to be installed per the drawings
6 At the L3x3 at the bottom of the vertical stud the angle is currently attached to the existing brick with the Kwik
Con II (Tapcon style) screws at a spacing of approximately 16 to 24 inches add additional screws so that the
maximum spacing is 12 per the Drawings
