The perforated pipe was bedded in gravel, with building paper over the pipe. A sump pump was located on the interior side of the foundation walls. The exterior perimeter drain pipe should drain towards and be connected to the subdivision under drain. The damp -proofing appeared to adequately cover the foundation walls. The damp -proofing application is used to help reduce moisture that can permeate through the foundation wall. Damp -proofing is effective in the absence of hydrostatic pressure and cracks in the foundation. It is important to keep vegetation that requires watering out of the backfill area of the foundation excavation.
