As requested I visited the referenced project on March 10 2010 March 11 2010 and
March 17 2010 to make observations of the work My observations are as follows
March 10 Drilled piers had been placed except for the piers at the front entrance steps
Discussed the front entrance will be constructed later Forms for foundation walls were
in place and the reinforcing was mostly in place Dnllled pier at far south wall and
24 -2 112" from the west side had the bars cut off flush with the top because they hit the
forms I recommended drilling new bars into the pier and epoxy setting them Follow up
inspection will be required the next day Free water was running out of the bank on the
east side near the south end
March 11 Reinforcing was completed for the foundation walls (3) extra horizontal bars
were added on the inside face of the east wall near the south end where the wall length
is 17 -2 from comer to comer Also added one extra horizontal bar on the inside face of
the east wall at the garage stairs The top horizontal bars in the foundation wall below
the garage doors was placed too low so (2) additional #4 bars were added at the top
The dowels had been added to the drilled pier The reinforcing was then in substantial
conformance with the design
March 17 Perimeter drains had been placed but not yet covered An exterior drain will
daylight at the south west corner of the site An interior drain will discharge into a sump
in the basement floor The drain line construction was acceptable Damp -proofing had
been applied to the exterior of the basement walls and was found to be acceptable
