Per your request, we have computed the minimum design dead loads for the truss top chords. Our calculations include 2-layers of asphalt shingles over 7/16" thick sheathing over engineered trusses spaced at 24" on -center. Based upon the above criteria, we have calculated the dead load conditions on the top chord and they are as follow. • Top Chord Dead Load = 7.5 psf (proposed building materials only) . • Top Chord Dead Load = 11.5 psf (proposed building materials with solar panels) Some of the trusses have been manufactured for the project. For these, the truss designer used a top chord dead load of 10 psf. It is our opinion the slight increase in dead load will not adversely affect the trusses as they are currently designed and manufactured (total load increase of about 4%). For new trusses, have the truss designer re -run their calculations using the higher dead load and make adjustments to their design (if needed). Thank you for selecting CTLITHOMPSON for your engineering. needs. When we can be of additional service, please contactiti'ig'b'hiiersigned. Very truly yours, a`~®PJ°°!S'%/ CJ J es A.
