On November 5, 2010, a representative of Northern Colorado Geotech performed an excavation
observation for a residence under construction at the above referenced site in the Harmony Ridge
Subdivision in Fort Collins, Colorado.
The soil exposed at the upper and lower foundation levels consisted of clayey sand with gravel and
cobbles. These materials are similar to those encountered by Northern Colorado Geotech during our
subsurface exploration at the site (Project No. 024-10, dated May 6, 2010). Based on our
observations and the recommendations of the geotechnical engineering report, it is our opinion that
the proposed residence may be supported by a spread footing foundation system. The foundation
should be designed in accordance with the recommendations and specifications provided in the
geotechnical engineering report.
Groundwater or bedrock was not encountered at the lower foundation level. However, as a
precaution, we recommend the installation of an exterior perimeter drain around the lower level of the
structure. The dewatering system should be constructed in accordance with recommendations of the
geotechnical engineering report.

On November 24, 2010, Weeks & Associates observed the perimeter drain at the
referenced site. Observations indicated a 4" diameter perforated pipe had been
placed around the exterior perimeter of the basement foundation to the sump pit in the
center of the basement. In addition, the exterior of the basement foundation walls had
been damproofed.

On November 12 and November 19, 2010, a representative of Weeks & Associates
observed footings and foundation wall steel at the referenced site. Observations
indicate the footing sizes and foundation steel reinforcement are in substantial
accordance with the engineered foundation plan for the project by Weeks &
Associates. In addition, the electrode had been placed in accordance with the
recommendations by NEC.
