Per your request, a representative of Terracon reviewed the window header sizes for
the proposed four -foot wide windows in the basement.
Based on the spans and the imposed loads, 2-2x10 wood beams can be used for the
four -foot wide window headers. The dimensional lumber used for the headers should
be Hem -Fir No. 2 or better. The headers should be supported a minimum of 6 inches
on the concrete foundation wall.
