Subject: Foundation inspection 603 Peterson Street, Fort Collins, Colorado
To Whom It May Concern:
I visited the above project on October 6, 2004 at the request of Mr. John Vattano.
The residence was originally built over a crawl space. To accommodate heating equipment a
partial basement was constructed.
Within the past three years a new sewer line was constructed at northwest corner of the home.
This trench was poorly backf lied and compacted and has allowed water to collect adjacent to the
residence. The ponded water has resulted in compaction or settling of the backfill materials.
This has resulted in a crack forming in the original foundation. The residence and main floor are
supported by the newer basement foundation wall. Therefore the crack in the original crawl
space foundation may be considered non-structural and non -threatening to the safe occupancy of
the home.
