Re: Exterior Perimeter Drainage System Observation

A representative from Terracon observed the exterior perimeter drainage system at the above
referenced address within the Richard's Lake Subdivision on November 11, 2003, as requested. At
the time of our site visit, a 4-inch diameter, perforated PVC pipe had been placed around the
exterior perimeter of the basement foundation and an impervious PVC material was placed above
the footings and under the drainage system. The drainage pipe was observed to exhibit positive
gravity flow toward a sump pit located in the lower level/basement portion of the residence. A layer
of washed gravel was also observed below and above the pipe and drainage filter fabric above the.
gravel. The waterproof dampening also observed and in our opinion was uniformly applied to the
exterior foundations.
In our opinion the exterior drainage system was constructed in general accordance with the plans
and specifications for the project.
