The property owner of record can elect one of the options below depending on whether or not the permit has expired. ***BEFORE THE PERMIT EXPIRES*** 1. Obtain a required City inspection, normally associated with this type of project, allowing the permit to remain in effect. 2. Obtain a one-time, no -fee, 180-day extension of a non -expired permit with a signed written request, submitted to the Building and Zoning Department. ***AFTER THE PERMIT EXPIRES*** 3. Within 1 year of the original issue date or date of the last inspection, pay a renewal fee of half the original building permit fee to reinstate the original expired permit. 4. After 1 year of the original issue date or date of the last inspection, obtain a new permit, by paying the full permit fee.
