As requested we have sized a beam to support second floor and roof load over a new
window box addition at the referenced site. Based on the imposed loads and the
approximate 9 foot span it is recommended a (2)-1 3/4 x 9 1/2" LVL beam be used. The
beam should bear on a 3-2x4 trimmer each end. Solid blocking should be provided
beneath the trimmers to the foundation.
