St;-uvturai-Ens 5 00104121 On July 10, 2001 1 visited the referenced site as requested. The purpose of this visit was to render an opinion based on site observations regarding the feasibility of cutting two egress windows in the basement walls. The windows are to be 4' by 4' with one window at the west wall near the south west corner at the location of an existing 32" wide by 24" deep window and other at the north wall adjacent to the northwest corner. The basement walls are cast in place concrete. Based on the existing construction and proposed windows it is our opinion it is feasible to cut the windows as noted. A supplemental header will be required over both openings. It is recommended a double 3 %" x 3Y2' x %" angle back to back be used over each opening. The vertical legs of the angles should be inserted between the framing and brick veneer. One horizontal leg will support the sill plate and the other will support the brick veneer. The angles should bear on a treated 2x8 trimmer each end.
