A representative of Terracon observed the perimeter drain construction at the
referenced site on December 12, 2001. A four -inch diameter perforated PVC pipe had
been placed around the exterior perimeter of the basement foundation. The drainage
pipe appeared to exhibit positive drainage toward the sump located within the crawl
space area of the residence. We also observed 1'/2 - 3/4 inch washed aggregate
placed above and below the pipe. Filter fabric was observed above the pipe and gravel
drain to minimize silt filtration prior to placement of backfill. The waterproof dampening
of the foundation system was also observed and in our opinion was completed in
general accordance with standard residential practices.
In our opinion the exterior perimeter drain was constructed in general accordance with
the plans and specifications for this project.
