It is our opinion that the addition of TJI blocking lsaced at 24" on ecenter ngth of he jo st is anadequaate substitution forspecified.below the wall for the the double joist The second item reviewed was the second floor joist spanning approximatel5' 9 vve f the garage and kitchen that was cut over the garage. The joist was cut approximatelyr bySimpson the garage common wall. It is our opinion that the joist can be supported joist spanning IUT9 or equivalent face mount hanger attached to sin1/2 gle UT91or equivalent face approximately 32". The 32" joist should be supported Y a Simpson mount hangers attached to the joists running parallel with the joist that was cut. The third item reviewed was the 2' second floor cantilever towards the rear of the residence. it is our opinion that the vertical loads being transferred through trimmers can be distributed into the second floor joists by the rim. This should be done by filling the last 1' of web each side with web filler material and then attaching a Simpson A35 framing anchor to the rim e web filler material with the required fasteners. When trimmers board and each side of th ists, it is recommended that another piece of rim supporting a header above fail between jo existing rim board in addition to the above board be attached on the inside of the recommendations.
