(303) 484-8253 29 September 1981 Mr. Felix Lee Building Inspections Department City of Fort Collins 300 La Porte Avenue Fort Collins, CO 80521 Dear Mr. Lees As owner of the building at 1415 Blue Spruce Drives we are engaged in a remodeling project to add office space to unit 3 of that building. To obtain a building permit, we agreed to add a layer of sheetrock to each side of the wall separating units 3 and 4 in order to bring a one -hour wall to a two-hour rating or to obtain an easement from the adjacent property owner restricting building near the property line. We have completed covering the side of the wall facing unit 3 where our remodeling is taking place, since we have not yet reached agreement with the property owner on the easement. We would like to delay covering the other side of the wall, which faces unit 4, until the tenant who is occupying that space moves out next summer. Because the adjacent lot is an open field, we would have the required open space to the west to satisfy fire code requirements during that time. If the city will grant us this delay, in order to prevent a severe disruption to the tenant, we will cover the remaining side of the wall with sheet rock or obtain an easement on the adjacent property to the satisfaction of your department no later than 30 September 1982.
