Gentlemen:
we have observed the drilling of several of the ten (10) inch
diameter piers supporting the residence under construction at Lot
33, Coventry Subdivision (730 McGraw Circle), a subdivision of
Fort Collins, Colorado. This inspection was performed on April
3, 1996.
Exposed soils measured from original grade consist of four (4)
feet of sandy clay over a sandy claystone bedrock which extends
to the depths drilled, approximately eighteen to twenty (10 - 20)
feet.
All piers observed were plumb, properly cleaned, and of adequate
length as specified on the foundation plan by KLP Engineering,
Job No. 5043. Nc water was encountered during drilling. .We
recommend concrete be placed immediately after drilling of the
caissons. Casing was not required.
