On April 3. 2000. a representatiN e of Scott. Cox & Associates. Inc. conducted N isual spot observations
of the drilling and installation of the ten (10) inch diameter piers for the new residence under
construction at Lot 11. Shenandoah. ( 7203 Egyptian Cam. a subdii ision of Fort Collins. Colorado.
The purpose of these observations was to assure that the piers N\ ere drilled correctIN for the subsurface
conditions encountered and to assure that the piers were constructed according to the specifications on
the foundation plan b} KLP Engineering. Project No: 4027.
The pier drilling operations encountered claystone bedrock at depths of fire (5) feet to six (6) feet
belov. the base of N arious excai ation leN els. The piers were drilled a total minimum length of m enty
fire (25) feet �N ith a minimum bedrock embedment of seienteen (17) feet, whicheN er was greater.
GroundN\-ater leN-els N\ere encountered in the borings at depths of twenty five (25) feet beloviv the
excavation, Casing of the borings %N as not required. Concrete was being placed with a concrete
pumper. Reinforcing steel was being installed in each pier.
As a result of our observations. it is our opinion that the construction of those piers observed Nvere in
general conformance with the plans and specifications. If you haN e am questions about our
