Dear Mr. Hagen,
As` requested we -are "responding to your question about the basement wall reinforcement for the
referenced project. As shown on the plan there are two full height basement wall details. One is the
typical basement wall reinforcing denoted by Detail E, which is used everywhere there is a full height
basement wall except for a portion of the front wall where the stairs are located. At the stair location there
is no floor system to resist lateral movement for the top of the basement wall, therefore this particular
portion of the basement was designed as a retaining wall denoted by Detail F.
