Dear Ms. Bowden:
The plans and specifications submitted for the construction of the new
walk-in cooler to be built in the Food Distribution Center, 1301 Blue
Spruce, Fort Collins, Colorado have been reviewed by this Department.
Based upon my June 22, 1992 meeting with Steve White, Project Manager, City
of Fort Collins, and the information provided, the plans are approved. To
reiterate some of the items discussed at that meeting:
1) Walls and ceilings will be dry walled and painted with a Tile Clad
epoxy paint. The lower 4 foot of the walls will be covered with FRP
panels. Floor/wall junctures will be coved with 3 inch rubber base
coveing.
2) The floor will have a concrete sealer applied as a finish. As
-discussed,-_this."Department does not recommend this type of floor
finish in this type of application because of the extensive
maintenance needed in keeping the floor clean and at the time of
resealing the floor.
3) The evaporation coil units will be drained to an evaporation pan
located outside of the walk-in.
4) The use of wooden shelves and interior finishes are not permitted.
Metal shelving planned for the cooler is approved.
5) Ten foot candles of light must be provided through out the .cooler and
all lights in the cooler must be shielded.,)
6) All plumbing, electrical and utility penetrations must be neatly
sealed or caulked around so there are no spaces or gaps between the
walls and ceilings and the utility lines.

As noted above, the plans are approved. Be advised, approval of the
plans, including the above modifications, does not constitute acceptance
of the completed structure. An inspection of the premises must be
conducted by this Department prior to approval for use of the walk-in.
Failure to follow the above listed requirements may prevent or delay
approval for the walk-in.
Please contact this office at least 48 hours prior to completing the
work so a final acceptance inspection can be performed.
If questions arise, please contact this Department at 498-6775.
Sincerely,
Jim Devore
