Gentlemen:
On March 30, 1998, Terracon observed the foundation excavation for the referenced project.
The soil at the upper and lower foundation levels is sandy lean clay. This soil is similar to soil
described in our Geotechnical Engineering Report prepared for the subdivision (see Project No.
20945121 dated September 12, 1994). Based on our observations, it is recommended that the
structure be supported by a spread footing and/or continuous grade beam foundation system
designed in accordance with the recommendations set forth in the geotechnical engineering report.
At the time of our observation, free groundwater and bedrock were not encountered within two feet
of the lower foundation level. However, as a precaution, it is recommended a complete dewatering
system be provided around the basement foundation. Specifically, a Type B perimeter drain
should be installed at this site.

and foundation wall steel and void form material placements are in accordance with the plans and
specifications for this project.
