Dear Ken:
It has come to my attention that the 20-day temporary Certificate of Occupancy
authorized by this office has been pending since November 4, 1982. The Certificate,
signed by you, was conditional upon providing a monitored fire alarm system in
lieu of a fire -resistive separation between the basement and main floor. As of
this date, the fire alarm system is not electrically activated with a central
monitoring station as required.
Please be advised that the permanent Certificate of Occupancy cannot be issued
until this matter is corrected. I will extend the authorization on the building
occupancy an additional time period to January 31, 1983. If, by this deadline,
the alarm system is not functional, the authorization to occupy your building will
become invalid. You then may be subject to court summons and possible fines
if occupancy of the building continues.
I urge your. cooperation in resolving this problem within the time specified in order
to obviate legal remedies.
