I used this fan because it can fit in a 2x4 wall. We needed to do a good wall mount fan because the fire rating would not allow us to place a fan in the fire rated assembly without some serious restriction. The fan is 1.1 Sones. Can we get an exception? But for the whole -dwelling unit information, there is only one fan listed. Because this is a duplex, we need 2 whole dwelling unit fans —one in each unit. What I told Lena is that if the fan in the second unit meets the <1 sone requirement, we can use that as the required fan in the second unit because there is enough CFM there to satisfy the flow rate. Otherwise, I'll need information on how the whole -dwelling ventilation requirement is being satisfied for the basement unit. It mentions one exhaust fan in the lower unit bath, however it is my understanding we need two unless the current fan is designed for a whole dwelling. Could you please confirm it is or isn't a whole dwelling fan?
