RMG Engineers Group (RMG) conducted a foundation excavation review for a single-family residence
under construction at the above -referenced site located in Fort Collins, CO on February I, 2013.
The footings were excavated to a layer of moderately expansive sandy silty clay and/or claystone/siltstone
bedrock, which is similar to those soils described in the Final Geotechnical Exploration Report,
Provincetown Subdivision, Third Filing, Phase 2, Fort Collins, Colorado, prepared by Total Engineering
Service, Inc.,TES project number 12-137 and dated August 8, 2012.
RMG did not encounter groundwater within three feet of the proposed footing elevation. The footings
need to be over excavated a minimum seven feet (7') in depth. The expansive soils should be replaced
with well compacted structural fill. The soils supporting the footings will then be a low expansive
material. Based on the soil conditions encountered within three feet of the footing level, a continuous
spread footing may be designed and constructed in accordance to the above mentioned Final Geotechnical
Exploration Report.

reinforcing steel for the above referenced single family residential property and found them to be
in substantial compliance with the design drawings prepared by High Plains Engineering &
Design, LLC for this structure. The "Ufer" electrical ground system was placed in the footing
and meet the requirements of Article 250.52(A)(3) of the 2008 National Electrical Code (NEC).
The footings were observed on February 6, 2013.
