The home is a two story home with full, mostly finished, heated basement, some vaulting. A large custom home it has 10 foot ceilings in the main and basement levels. Upper level is nine foot base ceilings. It has multiple closed combustion furnaces, multiple forced ventilation water heaters, and multiple gas fireplaces. The home even has an elevator. The stucco exterior helped seal the home too. House Pressure Fan Pressure Low -flow ring 37 43 Open 43.5 54 Open 47.5 59 Open 51.5 67.5 Open 56.5 77.5 Open Those data points resulted in the following calculations: Correlation coefficient .9979(minimum needed .9900) Flow parameters: C: 260.5, n= 0.685 Effective Leakage Area: 190.9 sq in (LBL) Equivalent Leakage Area: 307.5 sq in (NCR/Canada) CFM50: 264 cfm ACH 50: 2.61 The City's standard for air infiltration is 5.0 air changes per hour or less at a 50 Pascal's pressure. This home tested at 2.61 ac/hr at 50 Pascal's pressure, and therefore is under/passes the City's maximum air infiltration standard. Please do no withhold issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy for reasons of the air infiltration standard. It meets and exceeds the criteria. l6-fz=— November 11, 2005 Project No: 2175-01-05 Richard and Lea Ann Supe 7301 Silver Moon Lane Ft. Collins, Colorado 80525 Re: Lot 9, Block 12, Fossil Lake P.U.D. First Filing; Fort Collins, Colorado (6566 Rookery Road ) Dear Mr. and Mrs. Supe, Shear Engineering Corporation conducted foundation excavation observations for the above referenced site on Tuesday, October 18, 2005. The soils noted at the bottom of the main basement excavation consist primarily of sandy clay. The soils noted at the bottom of the basement walkout excavation also consist primarily of sandy clay. The soils noted at the bottom of the garage excavation also consist primarily of sandy clay. The soils noted in the excavations are generally consistent with the nearest soils profiles provided by Northern Colorado Geotech in the geotechnical engineering report for Lot 10, Block 12 Fossil Lake Ranch titled "Geotechnical Engineering Report, Proposed Residence, Lot 10, Block 12 Fossil Lake Ranch, Fort Collins, Colorado"; Northern Colorado Geotech project number 135-03; report dated August 25, 2003. Due to separation requirements from claystone noted in the geotechnical investigation report for Bison Ridge Subdivision, a test hole was dug to three feet (T) below the basement excavation. Claystone bedrock was not noted in the test hole. Boring Logs No. I and 2 were the nearest borings taken to this site. Boring Log No. 1 indicated lean clay with sand to a depth of seven and one half feet (7.5% underlain by weathered sandstone/claystone to a depth of ten feet (10'), the bottom of the boring. Boring Log No. 2 indicated lean clay with sand to a depth of eleven feet (I F), underlain by weathered sandstone/claystone to a depth of twelve and one half feet (12.5'), underlain by sandstone/claystone to a depth of fifteen feet (15'), the bottom of the boring. This lot is suitable for a spread footing foundation system. The foundation plan for the proposed residence prepared by Shear Engineering Corporation, dated August 2005 was used. Footings were designed for a maximum allowable bearing capacity of 2,000 pounds per square foot (dead load plus full live load) and a minimum dead load of 500 pounds per square foot according to the recommendations of the geotechnical investigation report noted above. Shear Engineering Corporation was present on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 and Thursday, October 20, 2005 for footing formwork and footing reinforcing placement observations. Shear Engineering Corporation was present on Monday, October 24, 2005 for foundation wall reinforcing placement observations. These observations were made to confirm that footing formwork and footing reinforcing placement and foundation wall reinforcing placement were completed in substantial compliance with the direction, details and specifications noted on the foundation plan. 4836 S. First Filing; Fort Collins, Colorado (6566 Rookery Road) All footing formwork and footing reinforcing placement and foundation wall reinforcing placement was completed in substantial compliance with the direction, details and specifications noted on the foundation plan. Shear Engineering Corporation was present on Monday, October 31, 2005 for perimeter drain installation and foundation wall dampproofing observations. Perimeter drain installation observations were made to confirm that perimeter drain installation was completed in substantial compliance with the direction, details and specifications noted on the foundation plan and in substantial compliance with the recommendations of the geotechnical investigation report noted. All perimeter drain installation was completed in substantial compliance with the direction, detail and specifications noted on the foundation plan, with the recommendations of the geotechnical investigation report referenced and with the field directives of Shear Engineering - Corporation. Due to depth of the walkout footing excavation and the interest n( to contribute water directly to the walkout basement footing, the drain at the walkout footing depth was deleted with the condition that backfill of the footing and wall is adequate and meets the requirements of the direction, details and specifications noted on the foundation plan and the recommendations of the geotechnical investigation report noted. Dampproofing observations were made to confirm that dampproofing material and application was completed in substantial compliance with ASTM D-449 Type II and ASTM D-41 specifications and the federal specification SS-A-701. Dampproofing (DECO 20) was applied to the exterior face of concrete basement walls that retain earth and enclosed habitable space. The dampproofing was applied from the top of the footing to the assumed finished grade elevation. Dampproofing coating material and application (DISSCO 521) meets the ASTM D-449 Type II and ASTM D-41 specifications and the federal specification SS-A-701.
