It is our understanding a single Boise -Cascade series 500 14" joist spanning 8'-0" was used at
the front of the stairs instead of the 1 W x 14" LVL beam shown on the floor framing plan.
Based on design loads, it is our opinion the 14" joist is an adequate substitution for the LVL
beam.
