At your request, we reviewed the results of the earthwork materials placed and monitored in the
building foundation areas. Terracon provided the services on an "as requested" basis. Our
services on the project site have included performing laboratory testing of the soils for
determination of maximum dry unit weight, optimum water content and soil classification.
Terracon also performed in -place field density testing during the foundation bearing stratum
preparation prior to placement of concrete foundations to check maximum density and moisture
control. The results of the field and laboratory testing were forwarded for review. In addition,
the on -site superintendent and subcontractors were informed on a daily basis of the test results
performed.
Terracon performed 2 in -place density/compaction tests for the building foundation bearing
stratum during construction. The tests at the locations indicated, met the design criteria as
provided by Adolfson & Peterson, Inc.. Based upon the limited tests and observations
performed, results indicate suitable materials and specified compaction at the locations tested.
Our test results represent only the materials at the location and time of testing. Terracon did
not direct nor control the fill placement and compaction at the site and does not assume
responsibility for the placement, compaction or control of the fill materials. Areas of fill which
are not representative of our testing may exist, particularly in common fill areas such as slopes
or landscaped outside of proposed construction. The foundation type and specific design for
each structure will be recommended based on the particular characteristics of the soil type at
foundation depth, and on the basis of further evaluations and observations prior to construction.
Concrete
The Portland cement concrete placed and tested on -site consisted of 1 test for physical
property and compressive strength tests for the foundation footings and slab -on -grade (placed
monolithic, 1 placement). The report indicates the specified minimum compressive strength
requirement (as reported by Adolfson & Peterson, Inc.) has been achieved at the age of 7-days
for the project.

Compliance Summary
Project No. 20061008
Page 2
Reinforcing Steel
Terracon provided reinforcing steel placement observation of structural concrete placements as
requested. The observations performed were observed to be in compliance per the provided
plans and specifications for the project and have been formally reported to the client and
designated parties. It is recommended that the project structural engineer review the test
reports for acceptance as meeting the project criteria.
Masonry
One grout sample, one mortar sample and one masonry prism assemblage was obtained for
compressive strength testing. Test results have met or exceeded the required the client
reported minimum strength specified for the project for the grout and are awaiting the 28-day
compressive strength results for the mortar and assemblages. It is recommended that the
project structural engineer review the test reports for acceptance as meeting the project criteria.
Structural Steel
Inspex ndt. provided structural steel/weld site construction observation. The observations were
performed of structural steel, beam to CMU wall pocket connections, A325 bolt connections and
roof deck welding/attachments. Observations were provided to on -site personnel at the time of
the visit with a written report as documentation. The observation reports has noted
observations as being acceptable per the provided plans. It is recommended that the project
structural engineer review the observation reports for acceptance as meeting the project
criteria.
Foundation
Terracon provided in -place density/water content testing of the foundation footing(s)
excavations as requested during construction. A summary of the test results were provided in
written reports upon completion. Per Adolfson & Peterson, Inc. provided criteria and Terracon
test results performed, foundation footings that Terracon tested have been placed in general
accordance with the plans and specifications.
This report has been prepared for the exclusive use of providing test data and observations to
document portions of the earthwork, concrete, masonry, structural steel/weld, and foundation
construction operations conducted for the proposed project. The opinions and conclusions
presented have been derived in accordance with generally accepted geotechnical and material
engineering practice. No other warranty expressed or implied is made. In the event that there
are any changes in the nature or design of the project, the conclusions contained in this report
shall not be considered valid unless this firm reviews such changes, and the conclusions of this
report are modified or verified in writing.
