Dear Mr. Gebo,
„rAelyg
It is our professional opinion that the truss system designed for
the job located at 7418 Blue Water Court satisfactorily supports the the roof.
The tile roof system we are using has a total "dead load" of 11.5
lb./sq. ft. (including saturated tile, felt, sheathing, and miscellaneous framing) .
By a secondary calculation of the truss system we have increased this "dead load" to 15
lb./sq. ft. Lateral braces had to be added at certain stress points.
All supporting hardware used corresponds to the calculated point
load requirements.
Furthermore, the truss system is designed to support all the necessary
"over -framing" , as is common with truss roofs, with point loading no closer than six feet
per chord on any given truss, and in accordance to UBC sect. 25-A 1 (allowable unit
stress for Hemlock Fir) and UBC sect. 25-U-R-11 (allowable spans) .
Thank you for your prompt attention to this letter.
