Collins, Colorado 80521 Re: Lot 23, Greenridge at Southridge Greens P.U.D. 9"7 Greenridge Circle; Ft. C0111=9 Colorado Dear Mr. Jennings, Shear Engineering Corporation has conducted observations at the above referenced address throughout construction of the remodel improvements. As actual existing improvements were exposed and confirmed, field design and construction modifications were made. All of these changes were in association with basement improvements. A summary of the actual changes and final installations are as follows. The attached plans note these changes for more understandable reference. 1 The existing basement beam where the post was removed consisted of 2 - 1 3/4" x 11 7/8" micro lams. One additional 1 3/4" x11 7/8" micro lam was added to this beam because of the removal of the post. 2 A new footing pad was installed at the bottom of the basement stairs. Because there was a substantial amount of gravel under the slab, direction was made to provide the new footing pad on natural soils below the gravels. A 10" x 18" x 36" footing pad was provided. 3 The footing pad noted on the Post and Pad detail Q family room / bedroom was installed. Because there was a substantial amount of gravel under the slab, direction was made to provide the new footing pad on natural soils below the gravels. An 10"x24"x24" footing pad was provided. The bottom of the footing pad is 30" below the finished top of slab grade. Because of substantial settlement of a portion of the basement concrete slab in the extreme northwest corner of the house, this portion of the basement slab was removed and will be replaced. There was concern that the foundation wall may also have settled because of the extensive settlement noted in the basement slab. Shear Engineering made several elevation level shots and determined that there was negligible difference in the shots made at the rear (north and west) foundation walls and that settlement of the foundation wall is not a concern.
