(Permit No. 98-23-04) and Retail Space K, 814 W. Drake Road (Permit No. 98-
23-21), Fort Collins, CO
Project Nos. 98-3-119.2 and 98-3-119.3
Dear Mr. Thayer:
Kumar & Associate, Inc. conducted part-time observation and concrete testing services during
construction of concrete foundations, concrete walls, and structural steel erection at the
subject site. A geotechnical engineering study for the project was previously performed by
Earth Engineering Consultants under their Project No. 1972067, dated July 31, 1997.
As requested by The Neenan Company, Kumar & Associates, Inc. conducted part-time
concrete testing at the subject site between June 18 and September 11, 1998 for concrete
used in construction of foundation footings, grade beam walls and slab -on -grade. The
concrete was sampled in the field and tested for slump and air content where applicable. In
addition compressive strength test specimens were fabricated and later transported to our
office for further testing. Based on the concrete compressive strength test results, the
concrete tested is in substantial compliance with the project specifications.
Structural steel site erection, including field bolted and welded connections, was observed on
a part-time, as scheduled basis between August 6 and October 14, 1998. Based on our
observations, the structural steel observed during our site visits appears to have been
completed in substantial compliance with the project plans and specifications.
