All footings should be founded on the original undisturbed soil a
ri;inimum of 30 inches below finished grade. Backfill around the
outside perimeter of the structure should be compacted at optimum
moisture to at least ninety percent (90%) of Standard Proctor Density
(ASTY, D698-7U). It is recommended that the basement foundation
walls and foundation walls supporting masonry veneer be 8" concrete
walls reinforced with two i4 bars continuously both top and bottom.
Foundation, walls not greater than 48" in height and retaining not
more than 44" of soil may be 6" concrete walls reinforced with one
#4 bar both top and bottom. The interior pads should be reinforced
with #4 bars C4 12" on centers each war bottom face. All openings
in foundation walls should be reinforced with two #4 bars continuously
around openings.
