The footing sizes for House Plan 1592 to be constructed at the above -
referenced location were stated in our letter dated June 15, 1976.
On June 24, 19760 it was brought to our attention that due to grading
requirements, the foundation walls to be constructed in the slab on
grade area (garage) would be approximately six feet (6') high. For
ease of construction, the concrete contractor (Kiefer Concrete, Inc. )
suggested constructing a twenty-six inch (26") deep by twelve inch (12")
wide footing with a 3'-10" high, eight inch (8") wide foundation wall
resting on the footing (wall do-weled and/or keyed to footing).
In lieu of the originally recommended 8" x 8" footings; the above sug-
gested twenty-six inch (26") deep by twelve inch (1.2") deep footing with
the 3'-10" deep by eight inch (8") wide foundation wall, which satisfies
the design criteria and recommendations developed in the "Report of a
Soils and Foundation Investigation`I for the area, may be used. The
footings should be continuous around the right and left side walls and
the rear wall. Two 3'-0" (4" x 12") voids equally spaced in the rear
wall stiould be provided.
Very truly yours,
EMPIRE
