On November 19, 2007, a representative from Terracon observed the foundation excavation for the
above referenced lot located within the Provincetowne Subdivision in Fort Collins, Colorado, as
requested.
The soil conditions exposed within the upper and lower foundation excavations consisted of a sandy
lean clay fill material underlain by native sandy lean clay. These soil strata are similar to those
described in our "Geotechnical Engineering Report" prepared for this portion of the site, Project No.
20075058 dated July 11, 2007. Based on our observations, the structure could be supported by a
spread footing foundation system designed in accordance with the recommendations set forth in the
report.
At the time of the observation, no free groundwater or bedrock was encountered within 3-feet of the
foundation elevation. Based on recommendations set forth in the Geotechnical Engineering Report,
it is our opinion a dewatering system should be placed around the lower level of the structure. The
drainage system should be designed and constructed in accordance with the recommendations set
forth in the report.
Sincerely,

A representative from Terracon observed the interior and exterior footing sizes and wall
steel reinforcement, including the "concrete -encased electrode" (CEE), for the above
referenced lot on November 20, and November 21, 2007, as requested.
Observations made during the foundation construction indicate that the interior and
exterior footing sizes, wall steel, and CEE placement were in general accordance with
the plans for this project.

A representative from Terracon observed the exterior perimeter drain at the above referenced
address within the Provincetowne Subdivision on November 28, 2007, as requested. At the time of
our site visit, a 4-inch diameter, perforated pipe had been placed around the exterior perimeter of
the basement foundation and was observed to exhibit positive gravity flow toward an interior sump.
The pipe was observed to have a layer of %-inch washed gravel beneath the pipe. The filter fabric
and %-inch washed gravel were observed to be on -site and appeared ready for installation above
the pipe. The waterproof dampening was also observed and in our opinion was uniformly applied to
the exterior foundations.
The portion of the exterior perimeter drainage system observed was constructed in general
accordance with the plans and specifications for the project.
