RE: Foundation Wall Repair Observation
2651 Thoreau Drive
Maple Hill Subdivision, Ft. Collins Colorado
Dear Mr. Ericson:
As requested, Total Engineering staff observed the foundation formwork and reinforcing
steel for a secondary 2' long wall constructed at the rear of the garage that is
perpendicular to the rear wall of the garage. This was needed because the original 2' wall
was mis-located during initial construction. The existing slab was cut and removed and
then a new footing and wall section was constructed next to the existing wall. The new
wall section was doweled into the existing wall with # 4 rebar with approximately 4"
embedment. The dowels were placed at approximately 2' O.C. each direction. Based on
the minimal load bearing at this wall, the adjustment is acceptable. The 2' foundation
wall was observed on June 4, 2007.
Please give me a call if you have any questions.
