It is our understanding the 2-span 31' beam at the stairs (2"d floor framing) is (3) 1 3/" x 11 7/8"
LVL instead of a W8x18 steel beam. Based on design loads, the (3) 1 %" x 11 7/8" LVL beam is
an adequate substitution for the W8x18 steel beam.
