RE: Lot 9, Windtrail at Spring creek (714 Gilgalad Way), Fort
collins, Colorado
Dear Mr. McBride:
We have made visual observations of the balloon wall at the east
and of the Living Room and Kitchen at the above referenced address.
These observations were performed on February 11, 1997.
it is our opinion that the wall should be stiffened with three (3)
C3x5 channels placed vertically, evenly spaced in the middle one-
third of the wall. The channels should be lag bolted into existing
etude with 1/40 lage at twelve (12) inches on center, staggered.
In addition, we recommend that the OSB sheeting be nailed to all
studs that were added to the above mentioned wall after the
sheeting was in place. We feel that with the above improvements,
the balloon wall should be sufficient for the anticipated wind
loads.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call..
Respectfully,
