Pavers to the north of Buildings A and B seem to be separating and Leonard, of Soderberg Masonry, was asked as to why this was happening. He did not know and suggested that we wait a week or two to see if the separation continues before we reach a solution. There was some discussion as to how to fill the 1" + joint between the concrete banding around the buildings and the pavers. Leonard suggested that we make a concrete slurry and pour this between the banding and pavers and then pour sand on the top while the slurry is still wet so that it will provide a solid joint. We will look into this further, nothing was decided at that time. 02. Trimble Court Alley: a. Pavers have been installed at the intersection of Trimble Court Alley and Walnut Street. b. Concrete banding has been installed to cover the city power duct bank that runs through the Trimble Court Alley/Walnut Street intersection. C. The concrete banding across the alley to the west and other paving throughout the alley is inconsistent in quality. Some areas are poured at different elevations to the pours adjacent to- them, expansiofr material- is- use& in soave places and not in others, finishes are inconsistent, etc. The finished quality is not what SLP feels is acceptable. d. A thin layer of concrete has been poured over the two existing manholes in front of the Artisan's Center and has been poorly blended to meet the existing concrete around it. It was previously discussed on the site with both Madsen and Heath to sawcut one foot on either side of these existing manholes, remove that existing concrete gutter and repour, 3/83 OLD TOWN SQUARE - PLAZA #83/121.03 OR 15 August 1984 Page 3 of 6 ITEM OBSERVED: covering the entire manhole so that it is one monolithic pour. This was not done. e. About half of the concrete paving in the west Trimble Court Alley has been installed. 03. South Plaza: a. The concrete banding has been poured around the Avery Building including around the new stair going down to the basement of the building. Pavers have been installed up to the door at the circular corner of the building. b. The three southern most planters have been poured and are having the finish applied. The largest planter in the southern most portion has been poured and the forms are being removed. C. The plumbing stubout for the drinking fountain is in place. d. Tree blockouts are evident in all of the poured planters. e. The gold goose logo has been installed on the top corner of Building G. 04. North Plaza: a. Concrete banding has been installed around Buildings B and C and is inconsistent and not of the quality that SLP finds acceptable. b. The metal framework of the pavilion is in place. 3/83 rrc re OLD TOWN SOOARE — PLAZA #83/121.03 OR 15 August 1984 Page 4 of 6 ITEM OBSERVED: c. Crews are working around the existing lead encased telephone duct that bisects the bottom of the water feature. They are covering the duct bank with poly and then pouring concrete over it to form the bottom of the fountain. The telephone company has requested that this duct bank not be removed at this time. 05. Market Place: a. Pavers have been installed between Buildings J and R. b. Some paver banding has been installed in the southern most wagon wheel. c. The electrical has been stubbed out •for the light poles. 06. Pavers are being installed in front of Buildings G and I along Mountain Avenue. **END OF OBSERVATION REPORT** The preceeding observations and/or comments represent an overview of progress and condition(s) of the work.
