Gentlemen:
We have observed the drilling of several of the ten (10) inch
diameter, straight shaft piers supporting the residence under
construction at Lot 3°"Plum Street Village (915 Pear Street), a
subdivision of Fort Collins, Colorado. This inspection was
performed on October 11, 1997.
Exposed soils measured from original grade consist of five (5) feet
of silty clay over a claystone bedrock which extends to the depth
drilled.
All piers observed were plumb, properly cleaned and of adequate
length as specified on our foundation plan, Job No. 3557-01-13-01.
Water was encountered during drilling. Therefore, we recommend
concrete be placed immediately after drilling of the caissons.
